The Rarámuri

The Rarámuri are an indigenous group from the state of Chihuahua in Mexico, who are famed for their long-distance running ability.

Known to regularly run 320km over two days, the word Rarámuri translates to ‘those who run’.

Lorena Ramírez and Silvino Cubesare are some of the world’s top ultra long-distance runners and compete in traditional dress and sandals.
